It is no secret that sodas have too much sugar in it. Even though it is unhealthy, many people still prefer this sugary beverage over water perhaps because of the taste. The high sugar content though makes many people avoid it as much as possible. This is why soda companies have developed no-sugar variants of their products.
Two bottles of sodas were put to a test on a viral video posted on YouTube. The main purpose of the video is to educate the viewers about how much sugar can be found in these soda products.
In the experiment, a Regular soda was first tested in high heat. Boiling the beverage will take away the water from the regular version. After 20 minutes of stirring and letting the soda boil in the nonstick pan, the sugar found in the product caramelized, leaving a ton of sugar on the pan. If you are a huge fan of the regular the soda, this may soon change your mind.
After the regular soda bottle, the sugar test proceeded with no sugar soda. Taking one bottle of the mentioned soda variety, the same thing was done to the soda. It was also subjected to very high heat until it boiled and the water was gone. Quite surprising is the fact that the no sugar soda did not stand up to its name – almost anyway. There is still a bit of sugar on the pan, but it is so negligible compared to the result of boiling regular soda.
By now, you may have probably decided that it is time for you to switch from regular soda to zero sugar zoda. After all, the latter does not have as much sugar as the regular one, which is really scary to think about. Imagine you are gulping tons of sugar whenever you drink your favorite soda.
Even though zero sugar soda does not have sugar in it, this does not mean you should drink it more than water. In fact, these two drinks are the same as they have low minerals and vitamins. The primary difference between them is that zero sugar soda does not have sugar and calories – perfect combination for those on a diet, right? Unfortunately, Zero is not nutritious. Even though it does not have sugar, it still contains salt (45mg per 12 ounces). If you have high blood pressure, you should avoid soda, even zero sugar soda, to maintain normal BP levels.
