Most of us want a flat belly, but many of us don’t want to work for it. If you are one of those who wish the fat would just go away on its own, here are some things you can do to bust that belly fat with minimal effort.
Get Enough Sleep
Here’s a good news for the lazy, you can sleep your belly fat away. According to research, getting sufficient amount of sleep can normalize your cortisol levels and optimize your circadian clock, which can have a positive effect on metabolism and weight. Researchers at the University of Chicago found that individuals who slept for 8.5 hours a night lost 55% more body fat than those who got only an average sleep of 5.5 hours.
Reduce Your Refined Sugar Consumption
Here’s a fact, your body’s ability to burn excess body fat is majorly determined by what you eat. This only means that unless you eliminate sugar/fructose-laden processed foods from your diet, your chances of getting ripped abs is slim – even if you work out religiously for it. So, you might want to think twice before you grab those chocolates, donuts, sodas, energy drinks and fruit punches.
Work on Your Posture
Straightening up your posture will not only make you look sexy and confident but also help you get that sexy tummy. And how exactly? “When your posture is good, you’re automatically engaging and toning your stomach muscles,” said The Biggest Loser trainer Kim Lyons.
Drink Water Often
Here’s the thing, when you are dehydrated, your body will try its best to stay hydrated. It will hoard water, leading you to carry up excess pounds around your midsection. So, keep those fluids coming. Grab a glass of water whenever you feel thirsty.
You don’t want to exercise, we get it, but at least try to lift your butt from the couch and take some good walk. A 30-minute daily walk can give your metabolism a boost, helping your body burn that belly fat more efficiently. Studies show that spending at least 2.5 hours of brisk walking a week – about 20 minutes a day – can shrink your belly by about one inch in four weeks. So take your belly walk and make sure to slip it in your daily schedule.
