Back acne, also called bacne, is really annoying as it can appear on the back, buttocks, and upper arms. It can be in the form of pustules, cysts, pimples, and blackheads.
It’s good to know that it can be treated using over-the-counter medication.
The good news is that the parts of the body that bacne can affect are thicker and therefore, you can use stronger formulas than those you use on your facial acne. But if you don’t want to use these OTC medications, you have natural options, which include the following:
Because of the citric acid in lemon, your pores become cleaner and become more open. To get rid of bacne using lemon, get the juice and soak a cotton ball in it. Start applying directly onto the affected area and let it sit for an hour or two before you wash it off using lukewarm water.
Cook some oatmeal and place it in a cup. Add juice from half a lemon and a teaspoon of honey. Rub the mixture on the area with bacne and keep it there for 30 minutes. Wash with warm water after. For best results, do this at least twice a week.
Tomatoes have acid content and they can also bleach naturally. So use the tomato pulp to get rid of bacne. Just rub onto the back acne and leave it there for 15 minutes. Wash using lukewarm water.
This vegetable has many uses and one of them is to treat back acne. Garlic can also reduce the acne scars and has antibiotic and antifungal properties. Just crush a few cloves of garlic depending on the severity of your bacne. Leave the paste there for about an hour or two and use warm water to remove the paste.
Just like garlic, turmeric is also very useful to have in your kitchen. It’s not only there for adding flavor to your foods, but can also help with skin issues. In this case, it has exfoliating and antiseptic properties that can eliminate back acne. Simply have a tablespoon of milk cream in a glass and add two tablespoons of turmeric powder in it. Mix well and apply on the scars. Leave it there until it dries. Remember to do the same thing twice every week.
There are some products that can actually cause back acne. Some of these products are hair conditioners, sunscreen, massage oils, and body creams. They clog your pores, so you should stop using them.
