We all need water for our bodies to function properly, but not everyone has a taste for it. If you’re one of those who’s aiming to drink more water, but not too happy about its taste (or lack thereof), you can actually make it more enjoyable. Here are different ways to make it flavorful without making it unhealthy:


Add some herbs into your water, such as some crushed basil or mint. This will add flavor into your drink without adding sugar in it. To enjoy the boosted taste, steep the herbs in your drink for one whole night and enjoy it the next day. You can also add lime or lemon in it before you drink.


Classic additions to water include citrus fruits, such as limes, oranges, and lemons. They are rich in vitamin C, so you can add more nutrients in your water. You can also use other fruits, of course, like watermelon, raspberries, and strawberries. You can also add cucumbers for better hydration and to help refresh you as well. It’s especially great in the summer season.

Fruit Juice

You don’t have to use whole or crushed fruits to make your water taste better. Fruit juices are a great addition as well. You can use any fruit juice, but it is recommended that you go for tart juices, such as pomegranate, cranberry, apple, and grape. These fruit juices can make your water especially delicious. Make sure you go for all-natural juices though and not those that have added sugars.

Cinnamon Stick

In a cup of water, simmer one cinnamon stick. Take the liquid and add ice and cold water. This can “spice up” the flavor of your drink and can even give you certain benefits, including lower blood cholesterol and blood sugar.


We’re not talking about ice water (even though some people swear ice water is better than water itself), but flavored ice cubes. You can use the flavors mentioned above, such as fresh fruits, cucumber, or mint. To make flavored ice cubes, chop your choice of additives, place them in the ice cube tray with water, and freeze. You can also do this using coffee, tea, or juice cubes. If you’re feeling creative, you can even make ice cubes in fun shapes using trays that look like stars, fish, or circles.

It is also helpful if you buy a water infuser, which makes it easier for you to upgrade the taste of water. Add slices of berries, melon, citrus, and other fruits with some herbs if you want. Add ice and refrigerate overnight.
