The dead skin cells clog our pores, along with other matters, such as oil, dust, and dirt. All these can accumulate and they can become pimples. It may be hard to believe, but there’s something right in your pantry that can be an inexpensive treatment to nourish and protect the skin on your face.
With the help of baking soda, you can clean your skin and even kill potentially vicious pathogens that contribute to skin imperfections. This treatment is natural, inexpensive, and effective; you’ll probably skip using beauty products in the long run.
How to Make and Use the Baking Soda Face Care Mask
With your baking soda ready, here are the other things you need:
- Shaving cream
- Dry chamomile flower
When you have all the things mentioned above, here is the step-by-step procedure on how to make and apply the baking soda face mask:
Step 1: Boil water. Get about 200 mL of water and boil it in a pot. Add one to two tablespoons of dried chamomile flower.
Step 2: Prepare the baking soda face mask. While waiting for the water to boil, mix half a teaspoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of shaving cream.
Step 3: Wash your face. Tie your hair or use your hand to get it out of the way. This will ensure that your entire face is clean and will stay clean before you apply the face mask.
Step 4: Steam your face. When the water boils, take it out of the fire. Place the pot on top of a table and position yourself in front of it. Then, slowly expose yourself to the steam of the hot water. You can cover the pot with a towel. Now, allow your face for steam exposure for five to seven minutes.
Step 5: Use the face mask. After steaming your face, it is time to apply the mixture. A word of caution though: don’t let it touch the areas around your lips and eyes.
Step 6: Use a toothbrush. After applying the face mask, get the toothbrush and run hot water on it. Make sure it is a soft one, so you don’t harm your skin. You can also use a regular toothbrush, but be really gentle. After washing the toothbrush with hot water, use it to clean your face. Put more attention on your forehead area and nose.
Step 7: Wash your face. For the last step, simply wash your face with water.
The effect is almost instantaneous. Look at your reflection in the mirror and you will find that most of your blackheads are gone. Plus, your face feels fresher, smoother, and cleaner. Do this procedure at least once a week for best results.
