Scars are often a beauty concern for most people. They are a result of an injured skin where fibrous tissue (also known as scar tissue) develops on top of the wound while the skin repairs itself. Scars can come from many incidents, including insect bites, burns, acne, surgical cuts, vaccinations, and accidents. No matter what your scar looks like, it can change your appearance, making you self-conscious.

Stop hiding your scars. There are plenty of ways to minimize them, including these scar removal treatments you can do at home:

Aloe Vera Treatment

First, peel the outer layer of the aloe vera leaf to get the gel-like material from the plant. Then, apply it on your scar. Before leaving it off for half an hour, massage the gel into your scar in circular motions. Do this twice a day. Aloe vera has always been known to be effective in removing scars because it is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial.

Olive Oil Treatment

Getting rid of scars is as easy as going to your kitchen and looking for olive oil. Apply extra virgin olive oil onto the affected area and massage in circular motions. Leave the oil there for 30 minutes or overnight if you wish. Don’t wash with water; simply remove with a clean cloth. Do this whenever you can every day to get the desired result. Olive oil has vitamin E and can keep your skin moisturized and soft.

Honey Treatment

Remove your scars by applying honey to the scar and leave it overnight. Wash with warm water when you wake up or before you go shower. Repeat this every day before you go to bed. You can also add crystallized sugar to honey and scrub onto the affected area for a few minutes. Wash with warm water afterward and apply a moisturizer. Do this once or twice a week. Honey can effectively help you get rid of embarrassing scars because it can remove dead skin cells while stimulating the growth of new tissue.

Another effective remedy is to use apple cider vinegar. Simply dip a cotton ball in the vinegar and put on the scar. Leave ACV there for at least 10 minutes and then you can remove with water. You can apply moisturizing lotion after the treatment, but don’t forget to apply ACV again daily for at least two weeks.

Scars can be unsightly, especially if they are in areas that other people can easily see. Start removing them with the very simple home remedies above to significantly reduce how they look.
