Acne can happen to anyone – even those who regularly clean their face. When you have acne, you see the inflammation on your skin because the secreted sebum (oil) is collected and trapped in the pores. This then causes the skin to form some kind of breakout where there is usually a white head and a bit painful when touched.
Acne and pimples don’t just occur on the face; you can also find them on your back, shoulders, and neck. Even though your health is not on the line when you have pimples, you generally feel miserable because they tend to diminish your attractiveness.
Thankfully, there are remedies for your problem and the following don’t involve commercial products as treatments:
Holding ice cubes or crushed ice in a piece of cloth on the skin with pimples can reduce the redness and swelling of your acne. Ice can improve blood circulation, while tightening your pores. Acne is often due to oil and dirt, but ice can remove them with this simple trick.
Lemons are rich in vitamin C, so get some juice and dip a cotton swab to apply on your pimples each night. You can also add a teaspoon of cinnamon powder to a tablespoon of lemon juice, which you will put on your acne overnight. Wash the solution off with lukewarm water when you wake up in the morning. This can dry up the pimples faster than other medications. However, if you have sensitive skin, you may want to do a skin test first before trying this natural method.
Exposing the affected area/s to steam can do wonders for your skin because this will help open your pores. When this happens, you allow your skin to breathe, while the skin gets rid of the excess oils and dirt that have been trapped inside the pores. When the bacteria and oil remain in the pores, the inflammation or infection occurs. Steaming the infected part is very easy. Just fill a large container with hot water and expose your face to the steam for just a few minutes. Now, rinse your face using lukewarm water. Apply a moisturizer that doesn’t contain oil after the treatment.
Having acne and pimples can be annoying, but they are prevalent skin problems. If you want to get rid of those without using commercial products designed to fight and prevent acne, go for the natural methods listed above.
